Carl Filoreto

Carl Filoreto applies his tool box of talents and wide ranging skills to every video project. As an accomplished DP, writer, editor and producer, Carl visualizes each project with a unique eye. He constantly strives to incorporate the latest technology and utilize new products so that each production will achieve the best results. These traits have allowed him to build a degree of expertise that enables him to work comfortably at the highest levels of the television production business. And he’s eager to put these skills to work on your project.

After a detour through graduate school, and a successful career in local news, Carl started Elk Run Productions in 1995. Since then, both he and his company have flourished. He’s traveled extensively both within the United States and internationally to work for a wide variety of clients. His range of skills makes him a regular contributor to high production value prime time broadcast network news magazines like Dateline NBC, to shoot high def segments for cable networks like The Travel Channel, and to work on personality pieces for major corporations. As an avid skier, Carl regularly combines his video and skiing skills for his clients. He’s also adept with a 35mm digital SLR, and has recently been performing professional photo work for use on web sites.

Prior to starting his business, Carl worked at KMGH-TV in Denver, WTNH in New Haven and WGGB in Springfield, Massachusetts. In that time he won seven regional Emmy awards, numerous national and regional National Press Photographers awards, and multiple awards from Colorado Ski Country and the National Snowsports Journalists Association.

Carl received a Master’s of Arts degree in communication studies from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Carl is also a state certified firefighter, wildland firefighter and first responder and volunteers for Genesee Fire and Rescue.
